2011 Chargers vs Ravens
The last home game of the season was a blast. Definitely ended on a good one as our tailgate was on a good one. Nothing like spending the last tailgate with good friends and good food.
Chargers vs Broncos @ Sports Authority Field
Game day morning started on a good note by not having any traffic to the stadium 3 hours before the stadium. Not only that, a bunch of lots were empty!! In SD by 11am, its a sold out parking lot and beers are everywhere.
On the Chargers.com forums, there was a thread for people going to Denver and there was this guy that said would bring the food, we just had to pitch in. Little did we know, this guy was from Chula Vista and good some pretty damn good carne/pork tacos that fed a whole lotta Charger fans! It was pretty cool to meet people that were all there for the same reason half way across the country.
So I tweeted Sharon from the U-T who does a weekly Out & About video for every Charger game home/away. I told her “come to Lot M, 100+ Charger fans!” and within 30 min she showed up with her one-(wo)man filming crew.
I guess we kinda jinxed the Chargers by chanting “3rd STRING JERSEY” to fans wearing Tebow jerseys before the game. Oh how that almost kicked us in the butt. And the rest was history…
- For a "Most Valuable Tailgate" award, it was pretty lame.
- A random Charger fan started handing us MINT Charger football cards! So awesome!
- ROLLING DEEP.
- They had a cool scoreboard but how in the world are we supposed to read anything in the top section!? IMPOSSIBLE.
- So at Denver (and Seattle) football games, you can rent out this little game gear resembling thing that you can watch replays from the game or even look at box scores from other games. Oh how we need a new stadium badly.
- C'mon now, they even have a cellphone holder to go along with the cup holder!!!
- Looks like die-hard Charger fans from New Mexico made the trip.
Chargers vs Cardinals Tailgate 2009
My first home game of the season and it felt great to be back. Cardinals didn’t have a chance. People say blowouts like these are boring, but I love them. Next time you’re planning on tailgating at the stadium, come by D4 and post up with us.
- Micro Machines.
- Outdoor Redzone theater.
- Got a visit from the Monster Energy Drink truck.
- Fresh & Easy.
Chargers vs Seahawks
I’ll keep this short. WTF SPECIAL TEAMS!
- Who puts a photo of a guy drinking out of a water bottle on their tickets?
- Antonio Gates warming up.
- Phillip and Garay with their pre-game hand shake.
- Patrick Crayton warming up.
- Crayton coming up to be one of my favorite players..
- Pre-game warm ups.
- The Sea Gals weren't bad looking, but the Charger Girls and my girlfriend look better.
- Malcom Flyod with te Seahawks "Blue Thunder Band" in the back.
- Philip Rivers standing solo starring at the Seahawks sideline.
- Coin Toss.
- Their fans were loud. You can see all of them yelling in the back...
- Malcom Floyd TD from my seats.
- Incomplete.
Qwest Field Stadium Tour
For only $7 we took the stadium tour which took about 2 hours to complete. Seattle has a cool stadium. We walked through the locker rooms, took photos on the field, checked out the press boxes, suites, restaurant seats, press conference room. It was all worth the $7. It may not be in San Diego but the Chargers will one day get a stadium like this…
- The wall dedicated to the 12th Man aka the fans.
- This wall displayed all the high school football helmets in Washington. Looks like they filled some spots with old NFL helmets. I spy a chargers helmet...
- We got to check out the visiting locker room hours before the team arrived from SD.
- The room was split into 2. One side for offense and the other for defense.
- I will never know whos locker I was sitting in.
- This is the defensive side of the locker room.
- The tunnel to the field...
- The home team tunnel. They wouldnt let us view the Seahawk locker room.
- The view from the stadium of the city and the bay was magnificient.
- The design and branding throughout the stadium was cool.
- The press room.
- Walked by the NFL Reply Booth.
- The TV and broadcast booth
- The press conference room...
2010 Chargers vs Cowboys Pre-Season
It felt good to sit down in our seats again since our downfall in January to the Jets. Had a little pre-tailgate with Nikki & Karen and later showed up were Kimtan, Mish, Nick, Baby Rhythm, and Jonas Da Bonus. Definitely awesome to see everyone again, especially in chargers gear. The guys that tailgated across from us made an EZ-UP tent look like a rubik’s cube. Definitely had a great time and can’t wait for the regular season. I’m missing the home opener because i’ll be in Phuludelphia so i’ll see my chargers again versus seattle in seattle. Can’t wait!
Chargers Training Camp #2
Went to Chargers Training Camp at Chargers Park yesterday as family/guest. Our PR buddy at work is buddies with the Community Relations (CR) for the Chargers and sat us right in front of yesterdays practice. Definitely crazy how close we sat. Can’t wait for the season to start! It was good to see Ryan Mathews suited up.
Charger Training Camp
Last Friday Kimtan & I went to Chargers training camp for an small group of season ticket holders. It was a very intimate occasion. Probably 300 – 400 people are so. Compared to the open public practice over the weekend at 4,000 people, this was really up close and personal. We had to park at qualcomm and they had charter busses shuttle us back and forth.
We posted up in front of the fence and watched practice. It was pretty cool to see the D-line up close and personal. So glad to see everyone out on the field but wished the team was complete. At this time Ryan Mathews hasnt been signed yet which is the only reason I’d go to another open to public practice.
