After a long and cold morning of filming, a few of the coolest locals (Betsy and Aaron) who helped drive the marathon and half course for the filming, took me out to dinner along with their friends in the french quarter. I just happened to be in new orleans for the “Krewe du Vieux” [krew-doo-voo] parade which they told me was a pre-mardi gras parade known for its wild and adult themes.

As mardi gras started this week, the streets were lined up and filled with party goers alike. It was one of the coolest and random-ist experience ever. it had mardi gras atmosphere written all over it. again all over the streets people yelled and sang their super bowl saints cheer “WHO DAT WHO DAT…”.

What is Krewe du Vieux
The Krewe du Vieux is a New Orleans Mardi Gras or Carnival krewe, originally and more fully known as the Krewe du Vieux Carre (“Vieux Carre” being another term for the city’s French Quarter). It is one of the earliest parades of the New Orleans Carnival calendar, and is noted for wild satirical and adult themes, as well as for showcasing some of the best Brass and Jazz Bands in New Orleans.
