Sammy’s

Friday evening April and I went out for a nice dinner and went to one of her faves, Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza. They have these delicious duck tacos loaded with sour cream, feta cheese, and a type of ranch sauce. Even better, we had cheese bread for appetizers and it was soooo good!

Lunch Thursdays

On Thursday I went out of the office and had lunch with kimtan at the sorrento valley food court. They have this new spot called Flame Broiler. They are supposed to be “healthy”. They actually gave the choice of brown or white rice!? I took the brown and it was really good. Come join us for lunch if your in the mira mesa/sorrento valley area.

First Week’s Work

So I had a successful 1st week. I actually can’t wait to go back to work on monday. is that crazy or what? So after getting used to the way things go at work, My first to email blasts went out. I also got all the detailed reports on them both. But the email on the left was send to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Chicago Marathon subscribers, all 8,000 of them. The newsletter on the right was sent to Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle subscribers, all 21,000 of them! Isn’t that crazy!

So after our “new media” meeting yesterday, they are going to have me start doing more video projects and ask what I needed, and i said… A MAC! So i’m finally going to get a new iMac for work next week. After a week on a PC, i already started to forget my mac shortcuts!

So cheers to week #1.

Adam Lambert (American Idol) / R.A.I.D. Airbands

If you didn’t know, American Idol contestant Adam Lambert is from Rancho Penasquitos here in SD! He was actually in our airbands in 2000!!! This guy is repping PQ on another level. But yeah, 5 months ago Adam left a youtube comment on our RAID video! I hope he wins it.

FYI: someone uploaded a new RAID video on youtube from a front row angle YESTERDAY!!!! 9 years later! Adam Lambert is the guy singing with the girls in this video.

New Employee Introduction.

Ive had less to blog about during the week since im at my desk most of the day. So my blog adventures shift towards my workspace. Yesterday I got in my wireless sprint card. Just like TK, i can browse the internet literally anywhere I want. So im connected on my mac as well as while working on my pc. Thanks Jenn!

I had a light lunch today in office. It saves all the frustration with lunch time traffic. After lunch we had our company meeting at our other building. Yeah we have 2 separate buildings across the street from each other. The other one is the bigger one. My boss and I took these taxi color, 3-speed, crank stopping, bikes to the meeting. It was pretty fun.

During the meeting, we were connected with out boulder colorado office via web cam and conference call. Our company is around 160 people strong. Part of the agenda was new employee introductions. When my name was called, i stood up in front of everybody. I work with about 3-5 people a day through emails. Now they can put a face to my emails. After the meeting we had ice cream cake in the lunch room for peoples bdays. I picked up my new oakley loaks from HR. I guess Oakley is a new sponsor so all employees get a pair of loaks.

Then i rode back solo to our office so i could get back to work. My days here go by fast, maybe because I like what I do. Momma is happy.

Slumdog Millionaire

I just finished Slumdog Millionaire at 3am. I didnt want to wait til tomorrow to watch it. It was a good movie. I felt like it kinda went along the lines of foreign movie City Of God. Either way, it was good. Latika, played by Frieda Pinto is very pretty.

How’s Work?

A lot of people ask, “How’s work?”. Well work is awesome. Its my first case of the mondays and it was not even bad. When I sit at my desk, I just smile because I love what I do. This is what I ultimately wanted to do when I decided to drop out of SDSU and go from a bio major to graphic design/media arts major. I can do this for the rest of my life kind of work and never get tired of it.

Im still not getting used to the 6am alarm. The moment i get off i just want to pass out. But one cool thing about driving home at sunset, is I get to drive by the coast to catch a view. Yeah, and also a view of the damn traffic.

Santos’ 80′s Hip Hop Anniversary Party

Every year Willy and Shalihe Santos celebrate their wedding anniversary. They missed their last years party so the had one last weekend. This years theme was 80′s hip hop. I didnt take as many pictures as I wanted but I cant wait til the real photos get released.

Rolando has his dinner celebration at Cin Cin in poway. It seemed like a double date. haha.

Friday was day #3 at work. Turned in my first time sheet and starting to get used to things around the workplace. I woke up with a sore throat so I brought with me a whole carton of OJ. I figure load up my body with as much vitamin C i can. by the end of the day i went to the bathroom 8 times.

I also needed to feel a little but more at home so i brought some friends with me to work.

Primetime

Kimtan Bui made it on channel 8 news with kyle kraska. Kimtan said his main men are LT and Rivers. haha!
