5:05 Ante Meridiem

Its been a long but not dreadful night/morning. I have a lot of work load so the only thing that would ease it would be working through the night. My body is crashing a little bit but my parents should be us soon so we all can have a cup of coffee.

Segue All The Way.

Its pronounced, [seg-wey].

We had our weekly segue meeting at panera yesterday. It was probably our most productive meeting yet. The wheels are starting to roll. Big things for the online mag in the near future. trust me.

The Wave House

Monday I headed over to the Wave House in mission beach to meet with one of the marketing guys there. They contacted me through club stingaree from doing their myspace. I just picked up a contracting job doing their myspace for their upcoming sunday events during the spring season coming this may. After our little get together, I walked around the frigid boardwalk of mission beach. Although it looked warm, it was cold. But no matter how cold, it was nice to see the view.

Behind The Voices

Monday night, me and apes watched Actors Studio on bravo and they had the 6 people who are voices of 30 people on the simpsons. It’s amazing!

Since im at it, might as well add in family guy voices.

Its a Wrap.

We dropped by a few spots at the trade show for the last day. We just happened to show up at the mega ramp where the demo featured skateboard legends steve caballero and christian hosoi. after the demo, which i will upload videos later, we headed to drop by 5 & a dime to visit jeff who was cleaning shop. We visited next door at alphanumeric to check out the spring/summer/fall clothing. We had lunch at neighborhood which has the best burgers and awesome beer selection. ran into buddy buddy friends on the way back to our coche.

Later in the evening, me and apes went to north county fair and check out the doggies. you have to check out the pet store everytime you go to ncf. there’s always so many cute dogs. i want the english bulldog.

All Business.

It was pretty much another long day for day 2 of the trade show. ill let the photos tell you about my day…

Agenda/ASR Trade Show Jan 09

It was day one of trade show weekend. It is probably the mellow-ist january trade show ever. it seems like its slowly dying out. You dont really see any new brands due to the recession which probably took out a bunch of vendors. And when i talked to a lot of the reps they said they dont even really open any new accounts. its hard opening and holding a shop open during these times. But it was good seeing friends and peeps you only see twice a year.

Willy had some of his boards hooked up with photon lights. even though the thought of lights on your skateboard seem stupid, these actually looked dope. to top that off, willys new birdhouse board on display clearly knocked out all the competition (see below).

The vans waffle machine was one of the highlights of the day. they made waffles on a stick for everybody. to top it off, the son of the creator of vans was handling the waffle machine. mr van doren. to get from ASR (convention center) to Agenda (civic center) you take the courtesy limo shuttle. on the way there we took the dope hummer limo. And the highly of the Agenda trade show was the free vodka and the obey beanies.

Afterwards, we had a business dinner at taste of thai. deng i wish i had some of that delicious food right now. and thats pretty much a wrap of day one.

Segue Mag // 923

To kick off the ASR/Agenda Tradeshow weekend, we started it off first on wednesday at the 923 bar in downtown sd. It was a good time to see friends you only see once in a while. The bar actually also has a secret passage way that connects to the old huster bar and grill. I think this bar is nice and all but their beer tap selection sucks.

cheer to the tradeshow weekend and dudefests everywhere on wednesday nights.

A Thousand Words

Apple Bites

I spent ALLLLLLLL day tuesday trying to fix my computer problems. first of all, my internet wasnt working due to interferance of this antenna transmitter my dad set up in the house. it took me over 4 hours to fix the problem. then my imac tripped out and got the grey shutdown of death like 5 times in a row, and then my laptop started making clicking sounds from my hard drive which means the hard drive is about to die.

I did hardware tests on both my macs to see if the software tests can find anything but both were negative. if things dont work out i might have to fall back on my OG 17″ powerbook thats downstairs.

ive been going crazy all day long to back up all my stuff. from 8am – 8pm, fixing and/or dealing with all these damn problems. I’ve got appointments with apple tomorrow, if only they served beer at the genius bar to drink my computer woes away.

Clint has a Hart

Monday night I played softball with my monday night mens league at the sportsplex. word on the street was that clinton hart of the chargers was playing with the other team. He played left field and in between innings he dropped his gloves and i picked it up and called his name. he jogged back to me and we had a little conversation and he simply asked “how ya doin”? Well the gloves he dropped were powder blue jordan football magnigrip gloves to match his powder blue cleats.

I know its only clint hart but damn, when ur a fan of the chargers and get a chance to exchange a small conversation, its dope. But anyways, he robbed my bash to the warning track my 2nd at bat. my 3rd at bat i hit a liner to him and trippled on it. but damn, clint is actually really huge and he is freaken fast! he takes enormous strides!

how did he get on the other team you ask? well the 3rd baseman handles the web content for the chargers and was at the front office that day and saw clint and he was down to play. who knows who will be special guest for that team next week.

after the game i said “F*ck the steelers, i went to the game and it was terrible” then he replied with a smile, “that makes it both of us”.

Why to Always Carry a Camera…

… so you can catch the most beautiful moments in a seconds moment. In this case, the sunset on monday. It was just so nice. The sky was so fire red. Luckily i had my camera on my phone. However it didnt do justice so i sped home trying to catch the last of it. Its crazy how fast it disappears in the horizon. I grabed my slr and caught what was left of it…

Gatorade Branding

Picked up a gatorade for my lunch today for only 69 cents at stater bros. A whole bunch of them had cool motivating quotes like “bring it” and “be tough”. However, its not like im gonna stare at my gatorade bottle and get some crazy motivation.

I took this photo when we arrived to the stadium of the pittsburgh steelers. I added a few filters on some of them and they turned out lovely. enjoy…
