Adidas & Circa Fall 08 Sneaks

My job titles at Willys Workshop are interactive designer and buyer. as a buyer, we pick out apparel, footwear, and etc, to order months and months in advance. it hard to tell what will be hot in 6 months but we do our best. we had a meeting with the adidas rep and circa footwear rep today to check out the Fall 08 (back to school) shoes. so lets begin…

these are the adidas skate sambas! remember sambas back in the day!? everyone rocked a pair of the black and white model. well, i didnt, i was branded and born with nikes on my feet. not kidding.

super dope and clean gazelles. this is part of the green natural environmental friendly collection. as you can see, corked insole. nice colorway!

speaking of colorways, this set of runners have some color!

somehow these runners are linked to the NBA? i dunno, has nothing to do with the NBA. it has the logo on the heel.

this model is called the Ciero. super clean, especially those brown mids.

Now off to Circa footwear!

trying to predict the future for a designer must be hard. i guess someone is still thinking -25 years ago. different but dont think these would work at the workshop…

now these mids are dope. especially the teal pair. full suede paneling with a vulcanized sole.  both of these will be at either shop when summer comes around.

dont be dumbfounded by the shoes shown here, circa has some clean shoes coming out in the fall that we have ordered. youre going to have to wait til then.

tomorrow, we have Skyler from Fallen coming in. so maybe i can snap some more sneak peak shots. im outta here.

Mindful Monday.

I had one loooong day today.

this morning my cat (ralph) was reminiscing on the good ol’ days on the window sill.

started out the morning at work today. a bunch of visitors came in today, including our mira mesa/fixed gear bike friend Jon. he has one of the dopest fixed gear bikes ive seen in person. super clean chrome with sick blue rims.

willy and jr’s nephew Keikoa (sp?) dropped in the shop today with his new hair dew, his shoes that light up, his spider man undies and a big smile…

he was so shy to hold the girls hand.

our elementary school homies/regulars, malik (mah-leek) and missy dropped in after school.  the coolest kids youll ever meet.

we had a Killa Beez basketball game today but unfortunately we lost. jenny and george were both rockin their jordans. what a cutesy couple.

as i said in the last post or so…

ITS CHARGERS WEEK! and i will wear a jersey everyday this week. this is day #1, shawne merriman #56 home jersey. i took this picture with two of the peeps (ojay and josie) that will be leaving on a jet plane on wednesday to the philippines. they are going to miss the game this sunday!

Apple MacBook Air?

Calling all Apple heads, tomorrow is the Macworld Keynote speech with mr steve jobs. from what i hear, they are coming out with a super duper thin macbook. i cant wait until tomorrow afternoon. im still rockin my first 17″ powerbook. its working okay but its way over due.

Bring on New England!

Went to jerel‘s house in Del Sur area and by far never had a fun time watching a charger game at a house as i did this sunday. good breakfast, beer, and a chargers win. i thank everyone for good times and jerel for the hospitality.

i could talk about the chargers win all night, but we all know what happened and we all know whats going to happen next week. im dedicating this week to the chargers and will wear a chargers jersey everyday of the week, ill keep you updated!

watching the game with a group of people is way more fun than being at home by yourself. see for yourself what im talkin about…

R.A.D. / Birthday Weekend Cont’d

After all the crazy partying this weekend, we really needed a day to just chillax. our fullerton friends friend had a little art show, well more like a shoe show to help promote his clothing line ect. it was at the local Its A Grind. it was a packed house and i seriously felt like a high schooler again. i was pretty happy to support the cause. the night was filled with acoustic music and spoken word. check out radisrad.com.

Birthday Bashing at HEAT

It was jr’s and christines birthday weekend. we had a private dinner at HEAT before the club part of the night. it was a splendid time we all had with out upstairs bottle service. it was a good time. more pictures uploaded to my flickr account.

went to downtown around 8pm and it was poppin. our downtown is so so nice! if i was visiting, i would love downtown.

dinner was at heat supper club in the gaslamp. well i wasnt expecting much but the private dinner was pretty awesome.

the spot was closed up just for all of us. nice seating and good times.

birthday boy and birthday girl. jr will be spending his birthday on an airplane to the philippines on wednesday. christines is on monday.

jello shots. not. no sign on alcohol when eating it.

i only blew a .09. i blame it on the high tolerance. are you kidding me! let me tell you what i drank without exaggeration, in order. crown on the rocks, corona, grey goose on the rocks (filled to the rim), and crown on the rocks (filled to the rim). and all of that only got me a .09 alcohol level. im an expensive drinker.

Thursday Throwdown at ONYX

its friday morning and im still feeling like shit after a thursday throwdown party. yesterday was chris’ sisters 21st and i think every single person on her list showed up. hell, it was a thursday! who goes out on a thursday! ONYX was crackin and i dont think the bartenders were ready for it. but i did see a bunch of hotties. its hard to believe our little sisters are going to be 21 soon. my sister is turning 21 at the end of the month. i cant imagine drinking with my sister downtown. holy crap.

i got picked up in the silver bullet, the TSX. got to the spot with a crazy line for a thursday! friends having a wonderful time. ronnie spinnin the good tunes. people dancing to good times. double fisting that crown on the rocks and a corona all night. took a pedi-cab to broadway pizza and got home safely driving home at 120mph. not kidding. scared for my life. there only one thing bad about thursday night, its going to happen all over again tonight at heat for christine (stank) and fatch’s (mr. mira mesa) birthday bash.

time for recovery mode. see you tonight.

Thats another reason for me to start looking into a high definition consumer digital camcorder. its starting to over ride my interests in a new macbook pro. i really want to put short films together. the whole reason why i wanted to get into design school. well i better start putting my christmas, birthday and graduation present together…

Above The Clouds

headed out to big bear at 530am. oh boy was i half awake. i ran a few red lights on the way to rhodas. we ran into horrible traffic in riversid on the 215. i seriously hate the 215. the most boring drive ever. when we got up the hill to bear, there was already snow on the start! there was snow everywhere! it was a good drive to the mountain. i got to use my $19 voucher from our last half day trip to snow summit. i paid $32 for a day pass but we called it a half day again at 1pm and got another $15 voucher. took the 215 to the 10 to the 15 home. the best choice we ever made was avoiding the traffic on the 215.

the storm last week dropped tons of snow at bear which opened up the pipe.

on our first lift up. rhoda already wanted to go back down. ha! she got stuck on the chair.

like i said, snow everywhere!

part of the lake was frozen and it looked so awesome.

this abosutely doesnt look like big bear, more like mammoth. it was an awesome sight.

we were so high up in elevation that we were above the clouds over crummy riverside. i seriously hate that place. it belongs next to bakersfield.

on the way home on the 15 we saw a newer frontier with a chargers sticker on the back window along with a dented left rear bumper! just like mine! crazy. too bad mine is an old 04 model.

we also saw this ride on the 15. what the hell is this thing doing with surf boards so far inland! crazy! but for sure a sick ride.

Pirate Bay

my favorite movie ACROSS THE UNIVERSE is coming out feb 5th but i cant freaken wait so spent the whole day trying to download the movie, and i did, but for some reason the files were messed up and i could only pay parts of the movie. what a tease. im going to spend they whole tomorrow/today trying to download another version. its ok, im still going to buy the dvd when it comes out. ive just been waiting way to long for this to be on dvd.

i also downloaded the JUNO SOUNDTRACK and managed to get all the songs! i know it doesnt help the cause, but i have supplied the link to download the soundtrack. simply click the poster below and it will direct you to the correct place. i figured since the link will be only available for 7 days or 100 downloads, just a few downloads wont hurt.

Niban Night

after work hit up niban down off clairemont mesa blvd. their food so is bomb and cheap. and i love how you pay first and seat yourself. after youre all full and fat you dont have to worry about getting up and busting your wallet out, even though after i finished i felt like i still had to pay.

I Love My Cat

before leaving my house today before work, my cat, ralph, asked me to tuck him to bed. so i did and snapped a few photos. this is one shy cat. if there are more than 10 people in the house he will vanish and disappear until everyone is gone. thats why you never see him during parties. and i have never seen him drink a drop of water. i bet you when i took this photo he was like, “what the fuck is that!” watch out, he might eat your dog.

in a month or so i will be printing a book with a bunch of my artsy farsty photos. im going to make it with some black and white photos. i think black and white photos have a different look and personality than colored photos.

our friends at curiculum magazine have just released their latest issue. they sure have been doing an awesome job and im trying to send help their way in their next issue and contribute. check it out, even if you dont know jack about skateboarding, they have restaurant and book reviews!
