Pong Shots w/ Suspence-er
Last year we found out one of our shop rider Spencer Nuzzi and friends had this hooby of theirs called pong shots. its the art of bouncing ping pong balls off objects to get it in a cup. at first i thought it was all editing and fake, but its really legit. they got rid of their website but i just got the link to a full video of their pong shot action

Could It Be?
So MTV has this new show that is looking for America’s Best Dance Crew. In the process of checking out the MTV’s shows website TK came across this… a simple advertisement on their MTV website…

but the thing is, i put together this BODY ROCK flyer for june 2nd, 2007 here in san diego, showcasing a whole bunch of west coast crews and some of the dance crews in MTV’s show, and i think we have come to a conclusion that my flyer could have been a strong influence for this little ad. same font, concept, and colors.

you be the judge…
———————————————————————————————————
by the way, here are some dance crews you may be familiar with representing the west coast…

Twilight Over San Diego
This evening i caught the sunset over the pacific just after the rain clouds had disappeared. i quickly got home and brought my equipment bag to the quickest location with the best view of the sunset. yes the rain puts everyone in the shittiest moods, but it can also bring out the most beautiful sights (as my thursday post shows). its one of the reasons to thank the rain.

this is how far away i took these photos from.
have a good evening…

i brought along my buddies ian and tim from hoey inc to see how my days are at the tradeshow. but as for the last day, it was pretty chill. i did most of my talking thursday and friday. visited and kicked it at blends. fixed gear bikes are a hot commodity here in downtown san diego…

ASR/Agenda Tradeshow #2
Day 2 of the ASR tradeshow
it was long and tiring but i somehow got though it with the ability to still go out that night. started the day with a meeting with Vans…
this looks more like a japanese shoe shop than a showroom
the brand new TNT 4
this is a crappy picture of the taka hayashi pack. only a few shops will get them. super dope shoes. this picture doesnt do any justice, sorry, blame it on the backlight.
the convention center has some really dope architecture

this is my homie brandon! when i used to be the man at sun diego, i passed on the shoe manager duties to him and hes know a key manager. i wonder where i could have ended up if i stayed at sun diego?

The Hundreds is Huge!
Ive been a hundreds fan for quite a while now. even before the whole paisley hoody thing they dropped years ago. i saw some of their tees in some shop in LA and went to their site to find bobby hundreds posts which i found pretty interesting. and to present time, its been one of the biggest blogs out there in this so called “streetwear” industry.
but as a buyer at willys workshop, i work hand in hand with these guys to help push and sell their product. ive got to know scotty ill of the hundreds pretty well and now im right smack in the middle of their world class blog.
check it at TheHundreds.com

ASR/Agenda Tradeshow #1
Day 1 of the ASR/Agenda Tradeshow
it was one loooong day downtown. ill try not to explain too much but just the jist of things. this is only day 1. fuck.
despite the rain and all, it turned out to be a nice morning…
me and TK got our passes and walked around and check out the skater dudes. (jimmy carlin / nose manual /mystery skateboards)
visited LRG but realized that we already saw their summer 08′ line.
me and TK took the limo service to the Agenda Tradeshow at the civic center. they have limo service the whole day.
visited homeboys at Grn Appletree. their apparel is taking a whole new direction for the better! workshop x grnapple collab #2? dunno but we’ll see…
visited SF peeps at official fitted hats…
then off to check out ambiguous. its not the same ambiguous 3 years ago. they changed shape and are now producing quality/inexpensive products. the best spring/summer line so far…
paid our visit to The Hundreds and we were well taken care of by our boy Scotty iLL and david. let me just hint to you… és footwear x the hundreds collab. more about it on sat when we go back to Agenda.
they had old school arcades outside in the lobby
2nd to last limo service back. me and TK ballin in the back seat.
ran into homeboy chris crusin the streets with a garbage bag.
ended up back at blends to meet up with the guys.
[vimeo]http://www.vimeo.com/635596[/vimeo]
checked into the Hard Rock Hotel where i personally took a 30 minute nappy naps.
went out for dinner at Neighborhood, right around the corner from blends and across the street from 5 and a Dime.
downtown Neighborhood.
cucumber water. the most refreshing water ever. you should try it sometime.
hand down 10 times better than in-n-out. you dont trust me? see for yourself. call me for directions…
while we ate, a whole bunch of people ended up meeting up and we were rollin 15 deep.
joe (blends cm) x keith (blends sd)
joe was caught in the tow away zone.
back to the hotel with like 5, 12 packs.
and out again to aubergines for the vice party. lots of people but gay music. fyi: walked by daewon song!
so at this point i was over taking pictures. we hit up a few more spots and went home, maybe.

Mellow My Man
i have nothing really to blog about today. i mean i do, but ill just keep that to myself…
why do i always have a camera with me you ask? … because you never know when you’ll see flesh tone pants!

so ive got work to do and 2 computers and and 3 monitors make it a little easier.
trust me, i will have posts like crazy starting tomorrow. big tradeshow is starting tomorrow. i will be working thurs-sat all day downtown and i will be bringing some sort of camera with me. heres my little day schedule. this only includes prolly 1/4th of the brands we carry that we need to see.
i took this picture last year at the agenda tradeshow… (click to enlarge)
willy just texted me from the philippines…. fyi: diether is brad pitt of the philippines

ill see you tomorrow somewhere….
ps. someone’s about to join the blogging movement…
Off The Wall!
so im sitting here by myself at work cleaning up and there is this tower of brown boxes that i swear keep saying “open me ollie“. as i keep cleaning, i can start to hear it whisper louder and louder. so i pause and put down what im doing and open the tool drawer. i reach, grab a dull razor and start walking towards the boxes. i take a deep breathe and start tearing the packaging tape with dull razor. and look what i find that has been calling my name…
VANS!
i would like to introduce you to the RATA. its part of the vans surf line but me and jr thought that its good enough to bring in for the spring. its kinda like a house shoe but super light and comfy. i believe retail isnt that expensive neither. i would say its better than the DVS francisco for sure. kinda look like a super slim clark wallabe’s. comes in two colors…
another piece we adopted from the vans surf line is the HALF CREPE. its a slip on half cab hybrid. when i saw the samples months and months ago, i tried them on and they were the most comfy shoes ever. you can also see the hempish soles…
IRON MAIDEN sk8-hi’s are always a fave. the artwork on the shoe is incredible.
the packaging is very dope also!
and of course, my favorite, the HALF CAB! we got super clean colors. check out this black colorway. super dope!
and the super clean brown suede colorways…
unfortunately these wont be on the floor prolly not til next week. we cant put them in the computer yet. be on the look out because these are only mira mesa order, pq will be getting similar shoes but different colorways. hang tight…
Man’s Best Friend / Killa Beez 2OT
Monday i worked the whole day shift. it wasnt that bad because i had chris accompany me in the morning due to the kids being off school, in which i swooped up some footlong subs at subway. for some reason i was kept busy and time went by real fast.
james and his doggy went for a walk around the block and came through the shop to tell me his doggy story. let me try to storytell the story he told me…
so i guess james had a little party at his house on sat night and woke up to the gate being opened and the dog was gone. he didnt even watch the chargers game on sunday because he was looking for his dog cody. but sooner or later he gets a call from some dude that perhaps has his dog, in pacific beach. so apparently some girls picked up his dog (mustve been somewhere in mira mesa) and took it to PB but couldnt handle the dog so gave it to some guys. i guess cody was going all crazy because he knew he was with strangers. they called james and they met up in PB and james even offered to buy them a bottle and they said, nah it was cool. so yesterday, james took cody to petco to get a new leash and collar.
cody mustve got nervous because he just got groomed also and his nails were all scrapped up. cody was such an obedient dog. he listened to every word that james said. crazy. its crazy how they ended up back together. i wouldve been the saddest guy ever. well like i always say… things happen for a reason…

monday nights are strictly for the Killa Beez b-ball team. 3 out of 8 on our team really play basketball, and the rest have played mt carmel football. its amazing how we still hustle on the court. we picked up leo and allan because george and ojay are in the PI.
we won by like 4 in double overtime! by far one of the most craziest game ever. down 5 points with like 30 seconds left, allan busted a 3 to bring us with 2. in the first overtime, 1.3 seconds left, chris (tom brady) tosses the ball full court and it landed in the hands of leo for a shot to tie it! it was leos going away present to us. btw, leos going to the air force next week =(
im the only person wearing charger gear the day after they lost the AFC championship game. did you see someone today wear any? nope. told ya.
with such an intense game, everyone was happy and well to applebees for beer and happy hour.
thanks bff’s for the support every week! we might as well recruit rose as the water girl.
